Back To School Guide For Parents (and kids if you feel like sharing)
I can’t believe it’s September ALREADY, and we are preparing to go back to school ( C.J actually started a week ago). The relaxed mood of summer is quickly being replaced by the rushed, hustle and bustle of homework, school projects and less healthy choices. But this back to school guide will help lessen some of the rushed choice and keep us from undoing all the good we put in this summer. Here are my 5 MUST haves for the busy, fit Mom:
I am usually not a smoothie person because I can never get the right consistency, but the Nutri Ninja Pro has made me a believer! Now I can save $5/ day recreating my favorite smoothies at home. Some of the great features include:
- Nutrient & vitamin extraction AND high performance all in one machine
- Next generation Auto-iQ™ Smooth Boost™ Technology that takes drink customization to a whole new level.
- Features 1100-watt motor base
- Includes two 24-ounce Nutri Ninja Tritan Cups with two Sip & Seal Lids, 24-ounce stainless steel Nutri Ninja Cup, 40-ounce blend & prep bowl with dough/chopping blade, 48-ounce XL multi-serve Nutri Ninja, and a 30 recipe inspiration guide.
- Available for purchase in September at major retailers starting at $129.99

Good Health Snacks
Good Health Snacks have been my go to for those days when my cravings get the best of me. Their mission is to created healthy snacks. My two favorites are the Half Naked Popcorn and the Avocado Oil Kettle Chips. For a list of vendors go here.
A Fitness Tracker
There are a lot of fitness trackers available on the market and in this case I’d say use your discretion and be mindful of your budget. There are several benefits to fitness trackers but the most important is accountability. When we get extremely busy it is easy to push aside our workouts for what we see as a more pressing issue. With a fitness tracker you’ll always have a reminder that you are working toward your goal, right on your wrist. I currently use the fit tracker app on my phone and the fitbit (pictured).
A Self Care Ritual
While this is not a product it is important. Busy Moms give their all to their families and often get less than no time for themselves. Well this year I am making it a point to schedule in a self care ritual just for me. It may be first thing in the morning with my Yoga practice or a long relaxing bath with my vitabath gelee.
If your kids are like mine they love video games and want to play them all the time. Imagine an app that allows kids (you can play too, Mom) to play trivia games, while earning points and discounts on awesome products. Think about the All the win in this! Kids get to play, you get to shop for the holidays at a discount. The team at gameit had the vision to make this happen, currently only available for iOs users, gameit redefines how customers engage with brands. There are tons of deals with big name companies like Nike, Beats and many more. If you’re an iOs user head over , download to start winning and saving!
I’m sure there are a few things on this list your kids will enjoy so feel free to share… or not. Here’s to a very successful and stress-free school year!
