Last year I embarked on a tedious 30 day Yoga challenge via Instagram, and though I completed it by day 20 I was burnt out. There are several reasons why, but the main one is that it took the joy out of my practice. It felt like I spent all my time picking perfect filters and shots instead of actually helping people understand why I practice and the benefits of each pose. While Instagram might not have been the right platform for me, I really want to share how Yoga has enriched my life and the benefits of a daily practice.
In keeping with that I’ve decided to do a once a week broadcast via Periscope, starting this Wednesday and only feature one pose a week. Utilizing my favorite Yoga hashtag #YogaYogaYall I will focus on the nature of a pose, the benefits and show what the pose looks like. As the weeks go I hope to build up to a short practice where people can prop their phones up and follow along, but let’s not get to far ahead of ourselves. For now, just poses and an understanding of the poses.
And let’s hope that a certain little #BabyGiant doesn’t feel the need to join in on the broadcast, like he did above. LOL!
