We’ve all had that moment when we debate the cost of our gym membership and its worth. We spend hours coming up with every reason we can’t afford to work out, but if you live in NYC (or the tri-state area) the excuses stop today. Every Thursday we will post free (low cost) alternatives to the gym to help you stay fit and on a budget.
1. Brooklyn Yoga in the Park: Free yoga at Prospect Park’s Long Meadow. Every Saturday in May and June from 10-11am. Cost: Free. If interest continues it may run through the summer. For more info visit, www.brooklynyogainthepark.org
2. Summer on the Hudson: Shape up in Harlem with Zumba. Certified Zumba instructor, Mercy Irizarry will help you work up a sweat this Saturday* at West Harlem Piers Park. Cost: Free. Shape Up NYC offers 175 free fitness classes every week in all five boroughs.
